Drying ovens are standard equipment in laboratories for testing aggregates, cement and other construction materials. The equipment is used to dry samples to constant mass at a specified temperature, typically 105 °C ± 5 °C, before further analysis and weighing. According to EN standards, materials must be dried without being manipulated during drying — drying in a microwave oven is not permitted as the high energy pulses risk fragmenting the material from within. Drying ovens with forced air circulation are therefore the recommended and standard-compliant method. German manufacturer Memmert has a long tradition in the production of drying ovens. Their robust ovens are available in several models and sizes with an internal volume ranging from 32 to 1,060 litres.

Termaks drying ovens are available in four sizes, reach up to 220 °C and are controlled by a PID temperature controller. All models feature digital temperature calibration, alarm function and data logging. A fan motor is included in all models except the smallest 26-litre version.
