Nordic Ball Mill

An aggregate sample with a fraction of 11.2–16 mm is tumbled together with steel balls and water in the rotating ball drum. Three ribs, mounted on the inside of the drum, improve the mixing and provide an even abrasive effect. After the prescribed number of revolutions, the contents are emptied and the aggregate sample is sieved to determine the amount of worn-off material, after which the abrasion loss is calculated.

The machine can run two Nordic ball mill drums simultaneously, or be used for Micro Deval testing with up to four standard drums. The speed is easily selected between Micro Deval test (100 rpm) and Nordic ball mill test (90 rpm). The drums are purchased separately and can be supplemented as needed.
