Sand absorption cone

The sand absorption cone is used to determine the particle density and water absorption of fine-grained aggregate materials. The sample is shaped into a cone using the tamper, and when the cone begins to slump, this indicates that the material has reached a saturated surface-dry condition — the stage required for accurate testing. The cone and tamper are made of metal for long service life and reliable use.
