Operating Principle
The asphalt sample (up to 3.5 kg) is weighed into a sieve drum and placed in the washing chamber. Washing is performed automatically using solvent and ultrasound:
- Minerals remain in the sieve drum
- Binder, solvent, and filler are rinsed out and separated in the centrifuge
- Filler remains in the centrifuge cup
- Binder and solvent are separated in the recovery unit through distillation
- Solvents are reused for environmental consideration
After washing, minerals and filler are automatically dried. When the program is complete, the process can continue with sieve analysis directly in the machine.
Control and Programming
The machine is controlled via software and touchscreen. The operator can program and save program sequences depending on the type of asphalt mixture, with preset numbers of washing and drying cycles.
Two windows enable visual control of the recovery process.
Solvents
The machine can be used with the following solvents:
- Trichloroethylene
- Tetrachloroethylene
- Dichloromethane (methylene chloride)
In the Nordic region, we use only methylene chloride.
Environmental Benefits and Efficiency
The main advantages of this machine are:
- Fast extraction time: 35–45 minutes including drying of minerals and filler
- Minimized environmental impact: Solvent loss per extraction is <20 ml
- Efficient reuse: Solvents are reused for long-term cost-effectiveness

Recovery Kit (RC-Asphalt)
The Recovery Kit is a specialized configuration for advanced recovery of bituminous material:
Features:
- Two windows in the recovery cover for observation of the recovery process (clean and dirty side)
- Sieve inlet that captures weightless asphalt components not collected in the centrifuge
- Two temperature limiters with LED indicators for easy access to heating and distillation management
- Direct connection for bituminous medium to rotary evaporator (ROTA module)
