Ring and Ball Apparatus – Matest

The system is controlled via touchscreen for easy handling. The microprocessor-controlled system provides a temperature increase of 5°C/min according to standard with continuous temperature measurement inside the glass vessel. A glass-ceramic heating plate ensures uniform heat transfer.

Ring and ball values are recorded automatically by two photocells positioned on the right and left. The system displays both results and the difference between measurements digitally, enabling automated testing without manual observation.

A magnetic stirrer with variable speed ensures uniform temperature distribution throughout the test. Two test options are provided: 30–80°C for water and 80–150°C for glycerol, enabling testing of different bitumen types.

The apparatus is supplied complete with 600 ml glass vessel, magnetic stirrer, test frame with support for test rings, two balls, and two ball centering rings.
