The sector compactor uses a segmented roller with alternating controlled rotation that simulates the function of a road roller. Compaction is performed through this system to create representative test slabs of various dimensions from bituminous mixtures laid and compacted in place.
The compaction cycle can be programmed according to a specific load or deformation value, providing full control over testing. This flexibility ensures production of samples with uniform density and dimensions that fully comply with standard and research requirements.
The system is equipped with heating of the segmented roller and sliding carriage, enabling temperature control to keep the form warm and avoid thermal shock that may affect sample workability. The electromechanical drive makes the system easy to use and maintain without external pressure equipment.
