SMARTIP automates the entire test procedure through automatic identification of the needle contact point and needle positioning, eliminating the possibility of operator error and ensuring reliable result repeatability.
The system uses an electromagnetic needle probe to perform the test and automatic zero adjustment at contact before penetration begins. Penetration measurement is performed with a high-performance contactless displacement transducer with 0.01 mm resolution in a range of 0–50 mm.
A 7-inch touchscreen display with user-friendly software and clear interface enables easy test setup. The system displays penetration and time curve in real time, average result, and test temperature during testing.
