At the injection of fine cracks and porous materials, the penetration capacity of a cement grout is limited by cement particles forming a filter cake at constrictions in the flow path, which prevents further penetration of the grout. The filtration pump is used to evaluate the filterability of a grout and is suitable for use both in the laboratory and in the field.
The method can be used to determine suitable grout mix designs, evaluate mixer efficiency, compare different mixing equipment, and determine the open time of a grout.
