Used to determine the setting time of the mortar fraction in concrete mixes with slump greater than zero, by testing mortar sieved from the mix. The apparatus consists of a spring penetrometer with a capacity of 100 kgf and precision of 1 kgf, and six interchangeable stainless steel needle points with areas of 16 – 32 – 65 – 160 – 325 – 650 mm². A sliding ring on the handle indicates the reached load. Supplied complete with carrying case.
Image 2 – C194 – Pocket Penetrometer
Compact pocket model for quick on-site evaluation of the initial setting of concrete. The penetration plunger has a tip area of 32 mm² and is pressed into the mortar to a depth of 25.4 mm, as indicated directly on the plunger.
