The bitumen sample is exposed to high pressure and controlled temperature for 20 hours, during which the oxidative aging process is simulated. This makes it possible to assess how the binder performs long-term without waiting for natural aging to occur.
The PAV equipment can be operated in three different modes depending on testing needs: fully automatic (the machine runs the entire test cycle without operator intervention), semi-automatic (the operator can intervene as needed), or manual (the operator has full control). Control is performed via an integrated 7″ colour touchscreen that enables simple and intuitive handling of all machine parameters.
The rapid preheating system can be set up to 80°C to reduce conditioning time and accelerate the testing process. A built-in timer enables setting of time and date to start the machine at the desired time, which gives the operator flexibility in work planning.
