The Los Angeles machine is used to determine the resistance of ballast to abrasion.

Consists of a solid steel housing with safety cover and integrated Los Angeles drum, rotated around its horizontal axis with 32 1/min. Incl. automatic counter that stops the machine after reaching the desired number of rotations. To empty the drum, a suitable tray can be provided.
